Welcome to Minteer’s Lab

1st STOP: Dawn Davis in 201 Interdisciplinary Engineering Building

Lab Access Safety Training

To complete your required Lab Access Safety Training:

  1. Go to: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
  2. Click on “General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST)”.
  3. Log in to the training system.
  4. Complete all six required training modules.

If you do not see the six modules after logging in, email: Michelle Bresnahan or Jimmy Rolufs. In your email, explain that you need access to the General Laboratory Safety Training (GLST) modules.

Once all modules have been completed:

  1. Obtain your GLST transcript.
  2. Email the transcript to Carrie Rossy.

Important: Lab access cannot be completed until all required GLST modules have been successfully finished and your transcript has been submitted.

Card Access and Autoclave Access Training

Card Access: Dawn will grant you card access to all relevant areas required for your work, with the exception of the autoclave area.

Autoclave Access Training: To obtain access to the autoclave area (Room 237 Schrenk Hall):

  1. Contact Dave Satterfield.
  2. Complete the required Autoclave Access Training.
  3. After the training is completed, access to 237 Schrenk Hall will be granted.

Note: Autoclave access is not included with your initial card access and requires separate training before access can be authorized.

Network Printers

To connect to a network printer on your computer:

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Select Printers & Scanners.
  3. Follow the prompts to add a printer.
  4. For detailed instructions, refer to the Missouri S&T guide.

If you experience any issues locating or installing a printer, follow the troubleshooting steps provided in the Missouri S&T printer installation guide linked above.

Laboratory Resources and Communication

1. LabSuit: A LabSuit membership invitation has been sent to your Missouri S&T email address.

  • Accept the invitation and log in to access the system.
  • A template outlining best practices for submitting requests is available to help you get started.

2. Scheduling Time on Lab Instruments

To reserve time on laboratory instruments, use the Minteer MST Group Calendar : Please check the calendar and reserve instrument time before using shared equipment.

3. Google Chat (gChat)

You should have received an invitation to join the S&T Minteer Lab Google Chat workspace.

  • Accept the invitation to join the group.
  • Download and install the Google Chat application on your computer or mobile device if desired.
  • Use gChat for lab communications, announcements, and collaboration with lab members.
